The troop trains keep on rolling in. Flatbeds with steamer tanks all covered in tarps. And rail cars carrying their crews. There’s a right mix of Mk II’s and Mk III’s. We’ve also got a platoon of Mk IImg’s. Odd looking tanks, being somewhere between a Mk II and a Mk III, but with machine guns instead of the usual 4” guns. That’ll please the Doughboys!
And they’re not just coming by train. Five squadrons of Rough Riders came roaring into camp later in the day. Quite impressive. Apparently there were supposed to be six, so where the last squadron has got to is anybody’s guess. Somebody said the Captain wasn’t happy when they arrived one unit short, and I wouldn’t want to be that squadron commander when they finally turn up!
